Diesel Air Heater Autoterm 2D-HA comes with a controller, basic installation kit and Operational Manual. The heater is equipped with a self-adjusting system for operations at high altitudes (up to 2500 m / 8200 ft!)

This version is designed / powered to heating up to 25ft. power boats, commercial trucks, buses, vans and motorhomes.

As per the instruction manual, the heater has to be connected directly to the battery to avoid any voltage drops/surges. NO Alteration to the wiring harness is permitted.

CONTROLLERS OPTIONS :
  • Manual Controller (PU-5) : The standard controller for the diesel air heater PLANAR 2D. Allows simplified heater control in “POWER” mode. Also provides a “VENTILATION” mode – air supply with no heat.

  • Advanced Digital Controller (PU-27) : The advanced controller for forced air heaters Planar/Autoterm 2D, Planar 44D, and for the hydronic heater BINAR/Autoterm 5S. Allows for various settings including a 7-day timer, air or coolant temperature setting, and operational parameters monitoring. It will allow you to set a timer to turn on unit but you must manually turn the heater off.

  • Touch Screen (PU-28) : Allows various settings including 7-day timer, air or coolant temperature setting, operation time, operational parameters monitoring; 3 in. touch screen.

Toasty!

This heater works way better than my older Espar unit did, and its cheaper. I bought this and installed in a Front Runner Wolf Pack. They stack a bit easier. I knew I would be installing this permanently in another vehicle at some point, and just recently did so. It is now heating my Conqueror UEV 490 and it keeps it to about 64 degrees on a 10 degree night. A little insulation on the floor will help that right along. I highly recommend the Planar units, and Expedition Upfitter is very kind and responds quickly to questions.

Great product and customer service

Had several conversations with Andreas at Expedition Upfitter before placing my order. I would highly recommend listening to his recommendations! There is a lot of good info.
In any case, the turn around time was great. The package really contains everything needed to successfully install the heater. Although, everything worked out just fine, I got a bit frustrated with the instructions that came with it... a quick phone conversation with Andreas helped a lot! It would also be nice if Planar would come up with a nicer end cab on the exhaust pipe...

Planar Heater

I have to say I am super impressed with the Planar heater, it is so toasty in our truck in a matter of minutes and the Total Composites body holds the heat so well. It is a far cry from an Airstream in -20C with a standard furnace with ice on the inside of the windows and going through a 30lb tank of propane in a day if you can actually sleep over the noise of an LP furnace!!! The Planar heater is super quiet and super easy to install!

I installed it myself!! I was pretty worried about this as its not really my jam but with the instructions and help from Andreas I was able to do it! It works better than expected.
