    The 12V Water Heater is hand and pressure pump capable. Purchase a pump that works at less than 4 Bar or 68PSI.

    This water is NOT FOR DRINKING! The heater contains a magnesium anode rod, which helps prevent corrosion but introduces metal ions (such as magnesium oxide) into the water.

    FAQ : CAN I DRINK THIS WATER ?
    1. The water in the heater does not reach boiling temperatures, making it prone to bacterial growth. The maximum temperature of the boiler is 75°C (167°F). Since the boiler is always kept full to prevent it from running dry, continuous heating can lead to the production of nitrite, which can be harmful to health.
    2. Inside the tank is an anode rod, which is designed to slow down corrosion and rusting in water heaters. This rod, made of magnesium, wears out faster than steel. It attracts particles like iron, limestone, or other minerals through an electrochemical process, corroding in place of the tank liner. As a result, the water in the heater may contain small amounts of metal ions, such as magnesium oxide, which makes it unsuitable for drinking.

    Hot water simplified

    I did not do my van-build to live in it. I did it to access trail heads and visit the backcountry. Consequently it is a simple build (no inverter, no solar). When a web search revealed EX-UP's 12V boiler, I was guardedly hopeful that I could make it work in my build. It turns out the thing works wonderfully. The installation was super easy, and the added creature comfort is very welcomed. My 200ah house battery is not phased by the heater as long as I stick to the routine of only heating water while driving. Simple is better.

    Takes too long to heat water and capacity is too small

    Great product, super happy with it. The 6-litre volume is just great when it's me and my wife camping but our dog gets into a lot of stuff and we are constantly rinsing him. I think he'd like it if we had more hot water for him! That's why I gave it 4 stars! #spoileddog

    Expedition Upfitter service was great and they answered many questions I had. The water heater worked as described, and actually pumped out water that was really hot. They do sell a mixing valve which may be required if the water heater is too close to the pump like in my installation. Otherwise it works great, I turn it onto max while driving and shut it off when parked to save battery power because it takes up a lot, but the hot water is worth it!
